Scientific data organisation & analysis

Support with cleaning, organising and exploring scientific datasets using Python and structured data workflows. This can include spreadsheet-based datasets, experimental results and research data that need to be prepared for further analysis.

Tools may include Python, pandas, NumPy and xarray, depending on the project.

Python scripts & small automation projects

Development of small Python tools and scripts for repetitive tasks, data processing, file handling and simple scientific workflows.

I can also help turn manual spreadsheet or research tasks into more reproducible workflows.

Bioinformatics

Beginner bioinformatics & reproducible workflows

Practical support for scientists beginning to work with computational biology, Linux and reproducible analysis workflows.

Areas I currently work with include RNA-seq workflows, Bash, Git/GitHub, quality control, sequence alignment, gene counting and differential expression analysis.

AI & Automation

AI-assisted workflows & knowledge tools

I build small AI-powered prototypes that help organise, retrieve and interact with information more efficiently.

Examples include RAG assistants, internal knowledge tools, structured data retrieval, LLM workflows and n8n automations, particularly for scientific or technical use cases.

Tutoring

Python, Git & bioinformatics tutoring

One-to-one support for students, researchers and scientists who want to become more confident using computational tools in their work.

Sessions can cover Python fundamentals, scientific Python, Git and GitHub, Linux/Bash, introductory bioinformatics and RNA-seq workflows, with an emphasis on learning through practical projects.

I am particularly interested in working with researchers, students, startups and small organisations operating across biotechnology, life sciences, environmental science, marine science and other science-driven fields.

I am also open to smaller freelance projects outside these areas where my Python, data or automation skills can be useful.
